Fixed Boom Cranes
The Petrel Marine Crane is a conventional luffing and slewing crane. The main boom is a box type fabrication, pinned to the rotating mast head. A geroller type motor via a pressure release brake and epicyclic gearbox rotates the crane through 360°. The slewing function is load protected by a double relief valve. Elevation of the boom is effected by one or two hydraulic cylinders which are load protected by double acting counterbalance valves. Lifting and lowering of the load is effected by a planetary winch unit with integral pressure released brake and counterbalance valve. The units are designed to comply with recognised classification society requirements.
The Petrel Marine Crane range includes 10 to 120 ton/metre, Fixed boom and Knuckle boom cranes, which are specifically designed for marine environment applications and shipboard operations in severe list conditions, allowing operation with 15°- 20° of list or lateral pull at maximum safe working load (SWL).
All Petrel cranes are protected for marine applications and are fully load tested in our factory.
Electric-hydraulic Power Packs: These are available for each model. Either separate stand alone units, or incorporated into the pedestals of cranes 20t-meter upwards. Optional second winches are available (1,8 ton to 5,0 ton). Further options are available, such as remote control, cabin, stainless steel piping and cylinder rods and different mast heights. See 'Features and Options' section of the attached 'Specification and Performance Data'.
